800 Pound Leatherback Turtle Found Off Juno Beach

The men say they were about a mile and a half offshore when they came across the massive turtle. They radioed in their discovery but by the time a dive boat arrived, the turtle had died. It's unclear why.

The turtle was towed to shore where a forklift was used to hoist it out of the water.

The reptile's remains will go the University of Florida where researchers will have the rare opportunity to study a male Leatherback sea turtle which never come to shore.
